Detox after Holidays - Day 4 to 7

Imagem
After a long weekend it was impossible to write daily my meals. I know I’m on holidays but being with 3 kids all day can be more exhausting than having a job from 9-5 pm. But I’m not complaining because I love to spend time with them and I have the help of my parents here.

But don’t think that I gave up of my goal to loose the 3 kilos, actually I lost already 1,5kilos and that makes me feel really happy. Of course the exercise is helping a lot, I’m not doing as much as I wanted but at least I’m doing something!
Day 4 - it was pretty busy with the kids and I didn’t have time to go to the gym in the morning. So I decided to have a big breakfast.

Breakfast: scramble eggs, paleo bread, nuts and some fruits.
At lunch time I went for a face cleaning so I didn’t want to eat much and I just decided to have some beautiful strawberries with a big coffee.
In the afternoon I took the boys to swimming and Maria to Hip Hop and I had a chicken salad at the coffee shop.
My meals were a little bit out…

Detox after holidays - day 3

The good think about being on holidays is doing different things everyday with the kids. Since we don’t live in Portugal is much easy for me to discover new/old places or different activities.Yesterday, the weather was cooler so I just decided to go with two friends to the zoo and make the kids walk around and see the animals.
We went there this summer for Maria’s birthday but it was really hot and we didn’t see everything! The first stop was absolutely hilarious because the zebras were doing something inappropriate...
It wasn’t the best start but we laughed a lot! After walking around the kids were hungry and we just went to Macdonalds and I kept my focus and I had a salad ( ‘what a sad life’).
Since I didn’t have time to do exercise in the morning I had a big breakfast so at lunch time I wasn’t so hungry and helped me to avoid the burguers and French fries! My meals:
Breakfast: egg in a whole with paleo bread, 1/2 avocado with, black pepper, salt and lime juice, some berries and a big …

Detox after holidays - day 2

My second day was different because I didn’t have Zumba in the morning, I tried a new class, it’s a Brazilian class called 3B Bum Bum Brasil, the translation to English is Butt Butt Brazil🤣🤣🤣! It’s just 30 minutes but I thought I wouldn’t survive!!! A lot of squads with weights but really good to tone the parts of my body that really needs. After I did a Step class, the last time I did it was more than 15 years ago and I really enjoyed but nothing compares to Zumba. But it’s always good to try new workouts and most important work different parts of your body!
My day always stars the same way:Breakfast: just a black coffee with cinnamon and a glass of warm water with some lemon juiceAfter Workout: egg in a whole , one of my favourite breakfasts with avocado, lime juice, salt and black pepper.Lunch: prawm salad with many veggiesAfternoon snack : oats porridge with hazelnut butter with cacao, berries, dry coconut, mango and almonds.Dinner: vegetable soup without potato and some Portugu…

Detox after holidays - day 1

After 3 weeks of holidays in Portugal I have more 3 kilos ( yes, I know it’s horrible, I’m addicted to food)!I could continue doing the same, eating everything I wanted and maybe try to loose the weight when I’m back to Singapore but I don’t feel happy with the extra kilos. So I just decided to do my Paleo Diet and maybe allow myself to make a few mistakes once a week ( I will try my best 🙏). My body really missed my Zumba classes and when I restarted I felt much better! It really helps to motivate you when you want to loose weight!

My day one was pretty easy and the secret it’s to try to keep me busy with the kids and be outside the house as much as I can and avoid the Portuguese bakery’s ( it’s a killer, believe me). This were my meals today:
Breakfast: just a black coffee with cinnamon and a glass of warm water with some lemon juiceAfter Zumba: paleo bread with a sunny side egg, watermelon, orange, papaya, almonds and parm hamLunch: grilled burguer, sunny side egg, salad with vinai…

Chia seeds pudding with berries

As many of my followers know I’m doing the Paleo Diet, and one of the things I discovered with this new lifestyle were the Chia Seeds and the only think I can say is that you can do yummy desserts with this seeds!  They  are awesome with fresh berries, mango, banana, nuts, coconut flaxs or with chocolate. You can do hundreds of different combinations and it’s the perfect breakfast when you are in a rush because you can prepare in the night before.
The best part of it is that they are very good for you:
“Chia is an edible seed that comes from the desert plant Salvia hispanica, a member of the mint family that grows abundantly in southern Mexico. In pre-Columbian times they were a main component of the Aztec and Mayan diets and were the basic survival ration of Aztec warriors. I’ve read that one tablespoon was believed to sustain an individual for 24 hours. The Aztecs also used chia medicinally to stimulate saliva flow and to relieve joint pain and sore skin.” – Quoted from Dr.Weil!

Maria's birthday party - Unicorn party

Imagem
Maria’s birthday will be just in July but since she never had a party with her friends from Singapore ( we are always away during the summer), this year I decided to celebrate it early!
We invited all her friends and she wanted a rainbow unicorn party🦄🌈! I spent all my Friday baking and cooking for 50 people but it was worth it! She was super happy and excited!

Some appetiser... And a super yummy sangria...
Me and my friend Bego did a kids Zumba class and we played a few games with the kids!
Her smile ....
Piñata time.... After so much fun the kids and adults had lunch, pizza, lasagna and cod fish with cream!
After....the perfect dessert... my delicious triffle with berries and custard...
And brownies...

And final the happy birthday to Maria...
She asked for a vanilla cake with pink icing...it was super delicious!
‘Some days, she has no idea how she’ll do it. But every single day, it still gets done’!

The best coffee in Singapore ‘Perk’

Imagem
In Portugal, everybody (or almost) is addicted to coffee, we start our day with a Cafe Latte (galão) and a croissant or a cake or toasts and after we will have a expresso! Of course, it’s completely outside the Paleo concept and I try to avoid this kind of meal, even though it’s so delicious! Nothing can beat the flavour of our express because it’s so unique but I always wonder if I could find something similar in Singapore. In Singapore you can find the local coffee, they call it Kopi-O (black, with sugar) or Kopi-C ( coffee with unsweetened evaporated milk (the C is for Carnation), but they’ll still add sugar😬😬). The problem is that it’s super strong and you just can take one in the morning, otherwise you won’t sleep at night. This is the traditional Singaporean breakfast with two soft boiled eggs and a toast with butter or kaya toast! A very funny way to have your coffee is in a plastic bag, because if you want to take away its a very easy way to transport your hot drink:  Hopefully,…
